* Menai Mister Mostyn
12 hand Welsh Section A Stallion Pony

Sire: * Friars Sion
Dam: Menai Mary Ann
View Spencer's pedigree

* Menai Mister Mostyn (Spencer) is a 12 hand Welsh Section A stallion pony.  In 2001 and 2002, he won numerous awards including:

  • 2001 Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America National Champion
  • 2002 Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America National Champion
  • Earned multiple Grand Championships, Supreme Championships
  • 2002 Undefeated Junior Colt
Spencer possesses fabulous movement and exceptional conformation.  He points his toe at the trot, maintains suspension and engagement behind, and covers the ground at the canter with a huge uphill stride. His movement and wonderful length of neck are both features that are unique to ponies of such "small stature." Spencer also has the type of movement that would be ideal to produce a dressage pony since his shoulder is so free and his hind-end so engaged. We think he has it all, including  spectacular Blood Bay color.

 Unusual Abilities in Such a Small Package

Spencer is the perfect choice to cross with your full-sized mare to breed an exceptional large pony.  Rarely will you find a stallion that is only 12 hands and has such a nice length of neck and such a big way of moving.  In Wales, the Section A welsh are bred true to themselves (both parents must be a section A for a foal to be registered), and the maximum height limit for the Section A's is 12 hands (the US allows section A welsh up to 12.2 hands). As a result, Spencer doesn't have any "big genes" hidden in his past.  Instead, he has proven bloodlines on both sides that have all been exceptional ponies.

 Big-moving Small/Medium Ponies and WPCSA Show Winners

Spencer is a good choice to breed to for top quality welsh breed show prospects (Review his 2001 and 2002 WPCSA awards).   He is also a great sire choice for non-Welsh small or medium ponies that have a big way of going.

 Video Available for Purchase

A somewhat "back-yardish"  video of Spencer does exist and can be purchased if you are considering him as a stud. Request a video.
